Different Types of Chanel Fabric and Non-Leather Material
September 13, 2020
Chanel bags made of fabric can be as glamorous as Chanel leather bags. Chanel uses different types of fabric and non-leather material such as tweed, denim, jersey and many more to create stunningly beautiful bags that satisfy clients of different demographics and needs. Some materials are closely similar to each other. Example, from the look and texture, satin and silk are very similar in terms of their light-reflecting and silky-smooth characteristics. The difference is that silk fabric is made from silk but satin may not.
These fabric materials are sometimes embellished with sequins, strasses and glass pearls, or covered with a layer of coloured or clear vinyl so to add a different look, feel and texture to the bags. Image below shows a Chanel Gabrielle Bag made of fabric covered with a layer of crumpled clear vinyl.
I have listed down the various fabrics and non-leather materials that Chanel is using on her bags. Click at the individual point below to jump to the respective section for a quick reference on how these materials look like.
